Students will develop fundamental academic skills under the guidance of teaching staff thoroughly versed in each subject area and its courses. Not only that, but the teachers also tirelessly encourage self-study so that the students possess inquisitive and questioning minds. The sense of accomplishment, the excitement and pleasure of discovery, and the deep sense of fulfillment and unwavering confidence that comes with independent study are all things that can shape students’ growth. Kaiyo Academy offers students many opportunities for discussions, group work, and presentations. Kaiyo Academy boarding school has an independent healthcare building which is equipped with 20 beds, bathroom, and shower facilities. In addition to caring for students with injuries or light illnesses, students can stay in the building for full-day and overnight observation if necessary under the watchful eyes of House staff who are on call 24 hours a day. In the event of emergencies, the Academy staff accompany students to one of the many nearby general hospitals or specialty clinics depending on the student’s symptoms.

Healthcare Staff

All students are provided with three nutritionally balanced meals a day, seven days a week including the weekends. The giant dining hall, with its tall ceiling, is big enough to accommodate all students in one sitting. It faces the azure and tranquil Mikawa Bay, and the brilliant sunshine that filters in and out of the 180° ocean view dining hall is the pride of the Academy. There are three menus to choose from for supper and students can have as many helpings of salad as they want. Naturally, we also cater to students with food allergies and other dietary requirements. It’s not just about nourishment, but also sitting down to relax and chat with friends.

We the staff at Kaiyo Academy Library are ready to provide a warm welcome to all the students and teaching staff of Kaiyo. We are open during lunchtime and after school on weekdays and Saturday afternoons. Have fun selecting a book, magazine or audiovisual material that takes your fancy from our impressive collection of over 60,000 publications. We hope that our library will prove to be a special home away from home where you are spirited away to new worlds via our books and audiovisual materials.
