Kaiyo Academy is an International Full member of the Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA)

In December 2023 Kaiyo Academy became the first school in Japan to be accredited as a full member of the Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA), the world’s leading provider of training and consultancy to boarding schools. The BSA draws upon the highly respected and well-established benchmarks of the standards for boarding schools in the UK, to ‘champion boarding excellence and provide worldwide boarding support’.

Kaiyo Academy was assessed by an approved BSA accreditor with considerable experience of boarding in accordance with an agreed set of standards, which are based on the UK National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools. Having met all the standards, for example, that relationships within the boarding environment ensure boarders are well looked after, boarders have an appropriate range of free time and other activities, and all appropriate safety provisions are in place, Kaiyo Academy was granted full membership to the BSA.
